In August of 2007, Donnie parked his 3-axle Peterbilt tractor truck and 2-axle trailer in the emergency lane of the eastbound 10 Freeway in San Bernardino in order to take a rest in the sleeper cab. As a paid employee of Deep Water Transport Enterprises, Inc., this was an unlawful and dangerous place for Donnie to park his vehicle.

Tricia Noelle Tigue was traveling along the 10 in her 1993 Honda Accord, when the tire on her car went flat. She lost control of the vehicle and it swerved toward the emergency lane of the freeway, colliding with Donnie’s illegally parked truck. Her Honda burst into flames, causing the wrongful death of her and the child she was five months pregnant with.

Humberto Delatorre, 49, was killed, and Deborah Lanza, 48, remains in critical condition after a truck accident, which officials say, was caused by the driver of a big-rig who failed to stop for slowing traffic on Highway 99 in Modesto. According to a news report in the Modesto Bee, four others who sustained non-life-threatening injuries in this October 20, 2010 chain-reaction car accident were identified as 60-year-old Byrd Lewis, Mary Soares, 33, Alex Morales 37, and Richard Paredes, 51.

California Highway Patrol officials say there were four passenger vehicles ahead of the big-rig, driven by 43-year-old Bradley Meinz. The truck driver rear-ended a Nissan Frontier pickup that was pushed into the other vehicles before veering to the left and striking a fifth vehicle, a Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The Chevy truck then overturned. Meinz was uninjured in the big-rig accident. CHP officials have said drugs or alcohol were not involved.

Up to 50 vehicles were involved in a chain reaction San Bernardino car accident on the 15 Freeway near the summit of the Cajon Pass early morning on June 10, 2009, the Associated Press reports. The 50 vehicles included several cars and two big rigs, spread over a half-mile section of the northbound lanes, California Highway Patrol officials said. Some suffered personal injuries in this horrific San Bernardino car accident, but officials do not know how many injuries there were or to what extent people have been injured.

The chain reaction car crash apparently began when two tractor-trailer big rig trucks crashed in the northbound lanes near Oak Hills Road. Motorist Phil Cokkinos, who talked to reporters at the scene, said he saw three or four big rig trucks and a couple of cars that were crushed between them. There were three separate car-truck accident sections, Cokkinos said, all totaling to about 50 cars. Officials believe fog and poor visibility may have caused this multi-car and big rig truck accident.

My heart goes out to all the victims of this horrific multiple car crash. I hope none of the victims suffered catastrophic injuries. I wish them all the very best for a quick and complete recovery. Please keep these injured victims in your prayers.

Six people were personally injured the afternoon of May 4, 2009 in an Anaheim Hills car accident after a dump truck lost its brakes and struck several vehicles at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road, The Orange County Register reports. Anaheim police officials said the white dump truck traveling north on Imperial hit a Toyota Camry on the driver’s side. That man who was seriously injured had to be cut out of the vehicle using the jaws of life. The truck also hit three other vehicles — a Honda CR-V, a Honda Accord and a Honda Odyssey van. Out of the six people injured, three needed to be hospitalized.

It’s indeed the miracle that the driver of the Toyota Camry who was hit by the dump truck survived this horrible Orange County car crash. According to the Anaheim Police Department’s spokesman, the truck hit the Camry on the driver’s side and crushed it so that the distance between the two front doors was reduced to 16 inches. This Anaheim Hills car accident could have easily ended up in catastrophic injuries or fatalities. Thank God it didn’t! I wish this victim and the other injured victims the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.
