Officials are looking for a hit-and-run driver who fled on foot after a fatal car accident in Compton the night of May 6 that killed 20-year-old Jennifer Lopez. According to a KTLA news report, the collision occurred as the victim was driving eastbound on Alondra Boulevard in a black Nissan Altima. A man in a blue Mitsubishi who was heading south on South Bullis Road at the same time slammed into the Nissan in the intersection. Surveillance video captured the moment of impact. Ghulam Ali Khimani, 81, was killed in a Torrance pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a KTLA news report, Khimani was walking in a crosswalk at Del Amo Boulevard and Mariner Avenue when he was fatally struck. Khimani was just down the street from a home, walking back from a prayer service at a community center when he was struck and killed, family members said. Police said the driver of the car that fatally struck Khimani did not stop at the scene. Instead the driver sped off, leaving the seriously injured man to die at the scene, officials said. A man is critically injured and fighting for his life after a hit-and-run crash in Westlake when he was struck by a car, which then sped away from the scene. According to a KTLA news report, LAPD has released a graphic surveillance video of the incident, which occurred the night of April 13 at the intersection of 3rd and Witmer streets. Officials in Los Angeles are offering up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a hit-and-run suspect who struck and seriously injured a 20-year-old college student last month. A 14-year-old boy riding a skateboard was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Ventura the night of March 16. According to a KTLA news report, the 911 call about a hit-and-run came in around 10:16 p.m. in he 10900 block of Darling Road. The teen victim had sustained what were said to be “moderate” injuries, which weren’t believed to be life threatening. A 22-year-old Anaheim woman has been fatally injured in a Long Beach pedestrian accident, which officials said, involved a suspected hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the Orange County Register, police responded to he 5500 block of East Second Street early morning on Oct. 28 and found the woman lying in the street. Police have arrested a driver in connection with a Pasadena hit-and-run collision that killed 27-year-old Jessica Torres Oct. 21. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, police have arrested 24-year-old Francisco Javier Soto-Cedillo on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit and run. Jade Maldonado, 14, was killed in a San Bernardino pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the teen was struck near Glasgow Avenue and Pacific Street the morning of Sept. 28. Police say she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk on her way to Pacific High School when a vehicle, described as a tan 2000 to 2004 GMC SUV traveling at about 40 to 50 mph, struck her and kept on driving. Rodney Richard, 22, was killed in a Lancaster hit and run crash early morning on Aug. 4. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred at the intersection of Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Avenue. Police said Richard was talking to the occupants of a black sedan parked by the curb when an eastbound full-size white truck, believed to be a Chevrolet or Dodge, struck him. Officials say the truck was traveling in excess of the 15 mph speed limit on that street. The truck’s driver stopped before allegedly speeding away toward Sierra Highway. Continue reading →

A 75-year-old woman was fatally injured in a hit-and-run car accident in Rowland Heights the night of June 11. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the incident occurred in the 1800 block of South Saleroso Drive at Rio Bonito Drive. The woman who was crossing the street with her husband was struck by a 2009 Pontiac G6, which left the scene after the collision.
