Richard Hernandez, 67, was killed in a pedestrian accident in South Los Angeles, which officials said, involved a suspected hit and run driver. According to a City News Service report, Hernandez died at the scene after he was struck by two vehicles early morning on May 20 at Main Street and 47th Place. Josephine Espiritu, 59, was killed in a Long Beach pedestrian accident after two vehicles crashed at a street intersection forcing one to strike her. According to a news report in the Press Telegram, police believe that the May 11th crash was the result of street racing. While the driver of the car that caused the crash has not yet been arrested, police plan to present a case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration. Police are looking for a hit and run driver who they say fatally struck a 33-year-old man in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal crash occurred early morning on May 1st as the victim as walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of West 92nd Street and South Western Avenue. Laura White, 64, was killed in a pedestrian accident in Garden Grove on the morning of April 22 after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Valley View Street and Lampson Avenue. Delia Huerta Arrearan, a 57-year-old crossing guard who has worked for the city’s Department of Transportation since, 2006, was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident that also left a 16-year-old girl injured in the San Fernando Valley’s Glen neighborhood.
