Four people were hospitalized with injuries after being attacked in a recreational vehicle by a pit bull who had just given birth to a litter of puppies.

According to a KTLA news report, multiple agencies responded to an emergency call in the Santa Ana River near Wilderness Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, first responders found four victims – three men and a woman – with bite wounds.

All four were transported by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Continue reading →

A police dog trained to sniff out drugs ended up attacking a 5-year-old boy on the evening of Aug. 3 during a National Night Out event in South Pasadena.

The local event, set up to build relationships between police and the community, ended with a youngster suffering significant wounds from the dog attack, that seemed to come without warning.

According to a news report in the Pasadena Star News, Sebastian Forbes had to get stitches for bite wounds from the attack on the left side of his face, near his eye, and on his ear along with bruising on his neck and shoulder. Continue reading →

A 62-year-old woman is in critical condition after being attacked by three German shepherds while she was out on a walk in Oakdale, California. According to a report in The Modesto Bee, officials with the Stanislaus County Animal Services Agency said the dogs escaped from a home when their owner opened the gate to leave the residence. A 12-year-old boy suffered major injuries after a dog attacked him. According to a report on Patch.com, the dog bite incident occurred on the evening of Sept. 15 inside a fenced property in the 1500 block of North Alessandro Street. Officials said the boy lives at the property and had played with the dog in the past. A 2-year-old boy was killed by his family’s dog when he was playing in the backyard of his Modesto home. According to a news report in The Modesto Bee, the boy was in the backyard of his home in the 1900 block of Pine Street when the dog, a mastiff/pit bull mix, attacked him. Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department officials said they are not sure whether the boy was alone in the backyard and what the dog and the boy were doing in the moments before the attack. A mother and her 3-year-old son in Vallejo were hospitalized with injuries after three dogs attacked them. According to a report in the Sacramento Bee, the horrific dog bite incident occurred the night of April 6. Neighbor Dorris Hutcherson told reporters that the dog attack was the worst thing she’d ever seen in her life. According to an NBC San Diego news report, the incident occurred in the 800 block of Douglas Court near Johnston Avenue. A woman suffered serious injuries in a dog attack in her own home after three pit bulls viciously mauled her. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the incident occurred the morning of Dec. 15 in the 55000 block of Mitchell Road in an unincorporated area of Anza. A responding officer for the county’s Department of Animal Services described the injuries as severe. All three dogs were pit bulls or pit bull mixes. A large dog that officers identified as a pit bull or pit bull mix, bit a man and one of two dogs he was walking in downtown Los Angeles the afternoon of Nov. 28. According to a KTLA news report, officers responded to the scene near East Fifth and Crocker streets. Witnesses said the large dog was running around loose when it suddenly targeted the men and his two small dogs. A 77-year-old woman is recovering from injuries she suffered in a dog attack after the animals attacked her during a morning stroll. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the victim was bitten several times by two dogs. The incident occurred near the intersection of College and Norwood avenues just north of La Sierra University’s campus.
