A mother and her 3-year-old son in Vallejo were hospitalized with injuries after three dogs attacked them. According to a report in the Sacramento Bee, the horrific dog bite incident occurred the night of April 6. Neighbor Dorris Hutcherson told reporters that the dog attack was the worst thing she’d ever seen in her life. A woman suffered serious injuries in a dog attack in her own home after three pit bulls viciously mauled her. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the incident occurred the morning of Dec. 15 in the 55000 block of Mitchell Road in an unincorporated area of Anza. A responding officer for the county’s Department of Animal Services described the injuries as severe. All three dogs were pit bulls or pit bull mixes. A large dog that officers identified as a pit bull or pit bull mix, bit a man and one of two dogs he was walking in downtown Los Angeles the afternoon of Nov. 28. According to a KTLA news report, officers responded to the scene near East Fifth and Crocker streets. Witnesses said the large dog was running around loose when it suddenly targeted the men and his two small dogs. A 77-year-old woman is recovering from injuries she suffered in a dog attack after the animals attacked her during a morning stroll. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the victim was bitten several times by two dogs. The incident occurred near the intersection of College and Norwood avenues just north of La Sierra University’s campus. Lauren Musick, a resident of Palm Springs, is in critical condition after a dog attack in Palm Springs. KESQ reports that Musick was attacked and bitten by her own dog, a pit bull, in her home the evening of July 2. When police arrived at the scene after neighbors reported a dangerous dog, they found the pit bull mauling its owner. An officer entered the apartment and stopped the attack by using his taser on the dog. The pit bull then continued to attack officers and others. Two dogs were seized and placed under quarantine in La Mesa after they escaped from a backyard kennel and jumped over a fence attacking a mother who was pushing her 2-year-old son in a stroller. According to a news report in the San Diego Union Tribune, the two Rottweilers attacked the woman and her son the morning of June 21 as they were walking on Waite Driver near 69th Street. Two people, a man and a woman, were injured in a dog bite incident after they were assailed by two pit bulls in Oakland. According to a news report in the East Bay Times, the dog attack occurred the morning of November 17, 2017 in the 2600 block of 63rd Avenue near Bancroft Avenue. A 74-year-old woman was injured in a dog attack after she was bitten by a bull terrier while walking her springer spaniel in the city of Riverbank. According to a Fox 59 news report, the woman’s daughter, Sherry Fenn, told the news station that her mother was walking her dog on Second Street on October 1, 2017 when a bull terrier went after them. Officers with the San Diego Police Department say they released a K9 on a man who attacked a cab driver, tried to steal a motorcycle and threatened one of their officers in downtown on July 9.
