Three Baldwin Park women were killed after a wrong-way driver crashed into their vehicle on the 210 Freeway early morning on Dec. 17. Five people including three teens suffered severe injuries in a hit-and-run crash stemming from road rage, and police are looking for the driver. According to a KTLA news report, one of the victims suffered critical injuries. The crash occurred the night of December 6, 2017, when one car cut off another at the intersection of Tica Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard. One man was killed and five others including two children were injured in an early morning car accident on November 26, 2017. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal car accident occurred near the 57 and 60 freeway interchange. California Highway Patrol officials said at least three vehicles were involved in the collision and that the driver of a dark-colored Honda CRV abandoned his car on the freeway and fled on foot. A two-car accident in Long Beach that left two people dead may have been caused by street racing, officials said. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the car crash occurred the night of October 14, 2017 in the 600 block of Shoreline Avenue near Queens Way. The collision caused one of the cars to catch fire. A woman, a passenger who was reportedly ejected from one of the vehicles, died when paramedics arrived at the scene.

Katie Evans, 37, was killed in a Santa Clarita car accident involving a suspected DUI driver as she was returning home from the hospital, visiting her premature twins. According to a news report in The Signal, the heartbreaking tragedy occurred the night of October 6, 2017 when a 22-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle, veered into oncoming traffic and struck Evans’s vehicle head on near the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Valley Center Drive. The woman also sideswiped another vehicle, but didn’t cause major injuries to that driver. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Officials expect to file more charges pending an official investigation.

Two people were killed and six others, including two children, were injured when a large truck crashed on State Route 125 in La Mesa. According to an NBC news report, California Highway Patrol officials say the big rig was getting onto the southbound SR 125 from the westbound Interstate 8 the afternoon of August 3, 2017 when the truck driver lost control. The driver crashed through the metal guardrail on the freeway- crossing lane on the northbound SR-125 before smashing into a concrete divider wall. Continue reading →
A car accident in Irvine fatally injured two women – identified as Jamie R. Lopez, 26, of Santa Ana, and Nancy A. Ortiz, 26, of Garden Grove — and a man critically injured. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the crash occurred on northbound Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue the evening of July 22, 2017. A Chevy Corvette went out of control and sheared a fire hydrant.
Police say two women in a Chevy Corvette were pronounced dead at the scene while a male occupant was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The cause of the accident is under investigation. A family of six riding in a minivan was injured in a car accident, which officials say, was caused by a driver who was fleeing a road rage incident. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the first crash occurred when a man drove an SUV into another car the afternoon of July 10, 2017 at the intersection of Bolsa Chica Road and Warner Avenue. After that collision, the man drove the SUV east on Warner, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a minivan that was leaving a parking lot near Warner and Springdale Street.
The SUV’s driver had to be extricated from his vehicle and was hospitalized for injuries. All six people in the minivan were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. At least two of the seven who were injured were sent to local trauma centers, which suggests they may have suffered more serious or critical injuries. No arrests or citations were reported.
