Three Injured After Car Crashes into Belmont Shore Barbershop

By

At least three people suffered injuries after a sedan crashed into a barbershop in Belmont Shore.

According to a news report in the Long Beach Post, the incident occurred the morning of April 13. Within seconds of realizing what occurred, witnesses sprang into action and freed a woman who was trapped between the car and wall, a long-time employee at the shop said.

Ongoing Investigation into Belmont Shore Barbershop Crash

The employee also called the police, who responded to the barbershop in the 200 block of Covina Avenue, just off Second Street. Officers found three people suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was also injured and did not show signs of impairment, police said. The barbershop employee said it didn’t seem like the driver was speeding but that he inexplicably crashed into the storefront. Police haven’t made any arrests or issued citations in this case. The investigation is still ongoing.

It is indeed fortunate that no one was critically injured in this crash. We hope all those who have been injured make a quick and full recovery.

What Caused This Crash?

Based on this news report, police don’t believe alcohol or drugs may have played a part in this crash. There are still a number of unanswered questions here. What caused the driver to crash into the building? Was the driver disoriented or suffering from a health issue? Was the driver inattentive at the time of the crash? Was there a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction that may have caused or contributed to this crash? We trust officials are looking into these and other issues to determine precisely what occurred here and why.

Compensation for Damages

In such cases, it would be in the victim’s best interests to seek and obtain medical attention. Even if you feel like you may not have been hurt seriously, it is important to get checked out by your doctor as soon as possible after the accident. The initial rush of adrenaline after a crash can mask pain and other injury symptoms.

If you have suffered injuries that require medical attention and require you to take time off work, it may be best to contact an experienced Long Beach personal injury lawyer who can help guide you through the injury claims process. You may be able to seek compensation for damages, including medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering.
