Grace Imai, 74, of Placentia, was killed in a San Bernardino County car accident involving a rear-end collision. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal car crash occurred on the northbound 15 Freeway east of Barstow in Yermo, the afternoon of August 17, 2012. Officials say Imai was a passenger in a 2004 Toyota Sienna with her husband when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. Imai was pronounced dead the morning of August 19, 2012. Officials are still investigating this fatal crash.

Marvin Adams, 66, was killed in a car crash in Riverside County after his wheelchair was struck by a vehicle at a street intersection. According to a news article in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Limonite and Hamner avenues in Eastvale, the morning of August 19, 2012. Police say Adams’ battery-powered wheelchair was in a crosswalk and had reached the eastbound fast lane of Limonite Avenue when a Hyundai Azera crashed into it. The impact was so great that Adams’ scooter-style wheelchair was completely destroyed. The Azera’s front bumper, grill and hood were severely damaged as well. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who saw this incident is asked to contact Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies at 951-955-2600.

Steven David Muller, 29, was killed in a Lake Forest car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle that was turning left at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Peachwood and Palmwood Drive shortly after noon on August 15, 2012. Police say Muller was riding eastbound on Peachwood when the driver of a 2010 Acura made a left turn in front of him. Muller struck the driver’s door of the Acura and was ejected from the bike. He was transported to an area trauma center where he died from his injuries. No arrests or citations have been reported. An investigation is ongoing.

Daniel Contreras, 30 was killed in a Los Angeles County car accident when his SUV flew off one highway and fell onto another. According to a report in The Daily News, the fatal car accident occurred at the Ventura 101 Freeway interchange bridge in Sherman Oaks where it meets the San Diego 405 Freeway, during the early morning hours of August 12, 2012. Officials say the victim’s SUV struck a metal guardrail, went over a concrete barrier and through two bridges before landing on the 405 freeway, 25 feet below. The SUV overturned on the lower freeway and Contreras was fatally injured. It is not clear what caused him to lose control or why his vehicle left the roadway.

Jorge A. Perez, 34, and his passenger, 31-year-old Beatriz Castillo, were killed in a Los Angeles County car accident, which officials say, was caused by a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal collision occurred when 39-year-old Salvador Tamayo, who was westbound on the 60 Freeway just east of Atlantic Boulevard the night of August 9, 2012, crashed his 2003 Ford F-250 pickup truck into a disabled car on the 60 Freeway. Perez and Castillo, who were in the 2008 Honda Civic, died from their injuries. Officials say Tamayo “failed to react in time” and struck the Honda. Tamayo was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.

A man was struck and killed in a Orange County car accident while crossing a street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the night of August 8, 2012 at the intersection of El Toro Road and Moulton Parkway. Investigators say the pedestrian was crossing Moulton when a small truck hit him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene. So far, no arrests or citations have been reported. An investigation is ongoing.

Tyler Macchiavello, 20, was killed in a Tustin car accident after he was ejected from the Ford Explorer SUV he was driving. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal rollover accident occurred the morning of August 3, 2012 on the northbound 55 Freeway at the Interstate 5. California Highway Patrol officials say the Ford SUV flipped and Macchiavello was ejected from the SUV. He had been traveling in the number two lane when he swerved into the number four lane. Officials suspect that he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to an area hospital with major injuries. He died about 13 hours after the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

John Dressler, 27, was killed in a car accident in Irvine after a car struck his motorcycle. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred on southbound 5 Freeway north of Lake Forest Drive the night of August 1, 2012. Officials say the two vehicles collided in the number one lane. Dressler was ejected and his motorcycle caught fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. It is unclear how the collision occurred or if the driver will be cited or charged in connection with this fatal crash. An investigation is ongoing.

Manolo Magat, 23, and Joseph Almario, 21, were killed in a Los Angeles County traffic accident, which officials say, involved a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal crash occurred early morning on July 31, 2012 at the 710 Freeway and 10 Freeway interchange. California Highway Patrol officials say that the driver of the Toyota RAV4, 22-year-old Christian Meng, was speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. Meng lost control of the SUV on a curve and crashed through the guard wall of the HOV lane. The vehicle plunged 60 feet off the overpass and landed on a transition road. Magat and Almario died while another passenger, 22-year-old Jason Lieu, was injured. Meng has been charged with felony DUI.

One person was killed in a Pomona car accident after the driver of a stolen car who was fleeing the police ran a red light and struck the victim’s vehicle. According to a news report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Towne and La Verne avenues on July 29, 2012. Officials arrested Brian Vance Coleman, 33. Coleman was allegedly driving the stolen car that was being chased by a police vehicle. Coleman ran a red light at the intersection and struck the victim’s car. Coleman attempted to flee when police tried to make a traffic stop. It is not clear where the pursuit began. The car Coleman was driving was reported stolen in Rancho Cucamonga earlier that day.
