Fatal Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident

A man, who was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident in the Lakeview Terrace area, has been identified by local authorities as 49-year-old Alberto Sandoval. According to a City News Service report, the fatal collision occurred on Foothill Boulevard when 58-year-old Paula Larene Dautremont lost control of her vehicle, struck a parked truck and then collided with Sandoval. He died as a result of injuries sustained in this crash. No one was cited or arrested pending an official investigation.

Pedestrian Killed in Westminster Car Accident

A 68-year-old man who was killed in a pedestrian accident in Westminster has been identified by authorities as Kenneth Lindeman. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal car crash occurred the morning of July 17, 2010 at the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Milan Street. Officials say the driver who struck Lindeman fled the scene. No arrests have been made yet. An investigation is ongoing.

A 65-year-old man was seriously injured in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a suspected drunk driver the night of July 17, 2010. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, officers found the man lying on Alvarado Road near Alvarado Court. The motorist, a 57-year-old woman, had initially left the scene, but returned later and told officials that she thought she had "hit something." Police determined that she struck the man, who sustained head injuries and a broken leg as a result of the collision. Authorities also determined that the accident was alcohol-related. The woman was arrested. An investigation is ongoing.

Pedestrian Accident in Crosswalk Injures Teenager

A pedestrian accident in Petaluma resulted in serious injuries for a 16-year-old boy the night of June 24, 2010. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that the injury collision occurred in a crosswalk at the intersection of Healdsburg and Cleveland avenues.

The pedestrian was walking in the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Michael Petzel hit him. The young pedestrian was transported to an area medical center for treatment of a bloody nose, road rash and shoulder pain. Police suspect the teen driver was at fault for the collision because he apparently failed to yield right-of-way to the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Los Angeles

A man was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident the night of June 13, 2010 near the Cahuenga Pass, the Los Angeles Times reports. The fatal collision occurred in the 4200 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Four others in the vehicle that struck the pedestrian were also injured in the resulting crash. Firefighters rescued one person who was pinned under the vehicle. All injured victims were taken to local medical centers. An investigation is ongoing.

Fatal San Diego Pedestrian Accident

A pedestrian accident on June 6, 2010 in the Midtown area of San Diego claimed the life of a 52-year-old man, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. California Highway Patrol officials say the man was crossing an on-ramp to the 5 Freeway on West Washington Street when he was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian died at the scene. No arrested have yet been made. An investigation is ongoing. Officials have not identified the victim.

Martha Leon, 55, was killed in an Oceanside car accident after she was struck by a vehicle at an intersection while crossing the street. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Vandegrift Boulevard and Parker Street the night of June 7, 2010. Leon was transported to an area hospital where she died shortly after the crash. The driver of the vehicle told officials that she had the green light. An investigation is ongoing.

San Diego Pedestrian Accident Causes Serious Injuries

A 69-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a FedEx delivery truck while walking in a marked crosswalk, the morning of June 3, 2010. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the man was crossing Federal Boulevard at 50th Street, when a FedEx driver who was exiting a strip mall failed to see the pedestrian in the crosswalk and struck him. The man suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung. His injuries, however, are not believed to be life-threatening. Officials are still in the process of determining whether any charges will be filed against the driver of the FedEx truck.

A pedestrian accident in Concord, killed a man near the State Route 242, CBS News report. The accident occurred when a car struck the pedestrian the night of March 24, 2010. The man was taken to an area hospital. He died several hours after the collision. Police have not said how or exactly where the accident occurred, neither has the driver been identified. An investigation is ongoing.

Los Angeles Car Accident Kills Pedestrian

Thomas Stout, 66, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident the morning of May 22, 2010 when a car rammed into several parked cars and struck him. The driver of the vehicle, Josef Byron Britt III, has been arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter in connection with this incident, according to a news report in the Los Angeles Daily News. Britt was driving a 2000 Chrysler Sebring east on Rinaldi Street when he struck three vehicles parked at the south curb. Stout was loading items into one of the cars and was hit. Orange County Pedestrian Accident Injures 7-year-old Girl

A 7-year-old girl was seriously injured in an Orange County car accident after she was struck by a vehicle while playing with a friend in front of her Dana Point home. The Orange County Register reports that the injury collision happened near La Paz Avenue and Silver Lantern Street the evening of May 10, 2010. The driver of the pickup or "military-style" truck that hit the girl did not stop and fled the scene of the collision. The child was transported to an area hospital. San Diego Pedestrian Accident Causes Major Injuries

A San Diego pedestrian accident left one woman seriously injured at a city intersection the morning of April 28, 2010. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the injury collision happened at the corner of Second Avenue and Elm Street when the woman was attempting to cross the street. The pedestrian was struck by a Ford Explorer SUV at the intersection. She was taken to a local hospital with hip injuries. Officials are looking into the cause of this accident.

Pedestrian Injured in Orange County Car Accident

Khuong Nguyen, 42, was injured in an Orange County car accident after he was struck by an out-of-control car in the parking lot of a Garden Grove hotel. According to a news report in The Garden Grove Journal, the incident occurred at the Ramada Inn Plaza on Garden Grove Boulevard, the night of March 5, 2010, when a Jeep Liberty SUV that was being driven into the hotel parking lot by 58-year-old Dzung Truong, hit Nguyen.

Truong told police officials that he tried to stop, but his brakes failed and that the car continued forward, striking Nguyen and pushing him against a wall. Nguyen sustained major leg injuries. He was transported to a local hospital. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. No citations have been issued pending a police investigation.

I sympathize with Nguyen, who has apparently been seriously injured in this collision. I hope he has not suffered any catastrophic injuries and wish him the very best for a quick and full recovery. He will be in my prayers.

San Diego Car Accident Kills Pedestrian

Steven Anthony Kelley, 18, was killed in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a two cars while crossing El Camino Real, in Carlsbad, the night of March 5, 2010. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the second driver waited at the scene, but the driver who initially struck Kelley drove away. The following day, a woman called police and told them that she may have struck Kelley. She told officials she drove away because she thought she had "struck an object" and did not realize that she may have hit a person. Kelley was crossing the northbound lanes of El Camino Real, near Camino Vida Roble.

Bus Accident in San Francisco Critically Injures Pedestrian

A man was seriously injured in a San Francisco pedestrian accident after he was run over by the Muni bus he was trying to catch. According to an ABC News report, the accident occurred the afternoon of February 23, 2010 on Stanyan Street, near Fulton Street. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian tripped and fell while running to catch the 33-Stanyan bus as it was moving away from the bus stop. The bus then ran over him. The pedestrian sustained a major leg injury. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Pedestrian Accident Caused by Suspected Drunk Driver

Authorities in Santa Maria have identified a man who was seriously injured in a car accident caused by a suspected drunk driver, the night of February 21, 2010, as 26-year-old Santos Quiros. According to a news report in the Santa Maria Times, 36-year-old Raymundo Reyes was driving north on Blosser Road when he struck Quiros who was walking eastbound on the roadway, near Donovan Road. Quiros sustained a fractured pelvis, multiple cuts and scrapes and was taken to a local hospital. Reyes was uninjured and later arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.

Los Angeles Woman Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Madeline Mezger, 19, was seriously injured in a car accident after she was struck by a vehicle while walking with friends in San Luis Obispo. According to a news report, Mezger was walking across California Boulevard from the railroad tracks on February 21, 2010, when she had stopped in the middle of the street. A 2009 Nissan Cube driven by 21-year-old Anthony Micheal Colicchio struck her. The driver told police that Mezger was wearing black and that he did not see her in time to avoid the collision. Mezger was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Officials do not believe Colicchio was under the influence of alcohol. An investigation is ongoing.

Pedestrian Killed in San Francisco Area Car Accident

A man was killed in a San Francisco car accident the evening of February 15, 2010 after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street. Claycord.com, a news web site, reports that the man was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Clayton Road and Barbis Way in Concord when he was struck by a Buick sedan. Police are not clear whether drugs or alcohol may have played a part in this fatal pedestrian accident.
