A speeding pickup truck crashed into an apartment complex in North Long Beach on the night of March 1, killing a father and his 3-year-old daughter who were inside.

KABC News and others have identified the victims as 42-year-old Jose Palacios and his daughter, Samantha. Shortly before the crash, surveillance video captured a 2014 Dodge Ram speeding northbound in the 6600 block of Rose Avenue. A woman suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run crash after being struck by a vehicle and dragged along by the driver.

According to a KTLA news report, the driver allegedly said, “I sure am” after being asked by the victim if he was going to leave the scene of the crash. The collision occurred early on the morning of Feb. 28 as the victim, 61-year-old Sandra Martin, was crossing the 100 block of East Fourth Street. A woman was fatally injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by a suspected DUI driver. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal crash occurred the evening of March 2 when the driver of a Chevy truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Woodley Avenue ran a red light and crashed into a Nissan sedan. LAPD officials said the Nissan was making a left turn onto westbound Parthenia Street from Woodley Avenue when the collision happened. Continue reading →

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on a major thoroughfare in Van Nuys died from his injuries on February 27.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News, the man was crossing Sepulveda Boulevard north of Victory Boulevard when he was hit by a southbound vehicle. The driver fled the scene. Tommy Chu, 44, was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Corona after his vehicle was rear-ended by another driver.

According to a report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal crash occurred early on the morning of Feb. 12 on the northbound 15 Freeway south of the Weirick Road off-ramp. California Highway Patrol officials said a Mercedes-Benz E-350 was moving north on the freeway when it struck the back of a Honda CRV. A man suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle accident in Menifee, which officials say was caused by an intoxicated driver.

According to a report in The Press-Enterprise, the major injury crash occurred on Highway 74 at Trumble Road. Menifee police said a Toyota pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Nathan Stipp was headed east when it made a left turn in front of the westbound Harley-Davidson, resulting in the collision.

The rider was transported to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition. Stipp was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury. The investigation is ongoing. Continue reading →
