A driver suspected of being under the influence crashed into customers eating outside a popular café sending at least one person to the hospital. According to CBS Los Angeles, officials said the driver, 21-year-old Piper Pollard of the Pacific Palisades, was arrested for felony DUI. Detectives said it appeared Pollard was driving northbound on Main Street the night of Feb. 12 when she struck a portion of a concrete barrier surrounding the extended dining area at Urth Caffe. Jose Manuel Garcia, 37, was killed in a pedestrian accident in Moreno Valley, which officials said, was caused by a hit and run driver. According to a City News Service report, the man was struck a little before midnight on Feb. 13 near the intersection of Fir Avenue and Perris Boulevard. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. LAPD officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash in Sun Valley that left a 58-year-old Glendale man fatally injured. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the crash occurred the morning of Feb. 6 at the intersection of Coldwater Canyon and Roscoe boulevards. Officials say a Chevrolet Silverado pickup was going north on Coldwater Canyon when it ran a red light at Roscoe and collided with the driver’s side of an older model Morris Minor that was traveling west on Roscoe. The driver of a box truck was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in a crash that killed a man who rear-ended the truck that was stopped on the 101 Freeway in Sherman Oaks. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the fiery crash occurred on the eastbound 101 Freeway at Van Nuys Boulevard. A woman was killed in a Santa Ana car crash, which officials said, was caused by a suspected DUI driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred early morning on Feb. 6 at the intersection of Third and Main streets. California Highway Patrol officials are looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a 24-year-old Lake Elsinore motorcyclist with major injuries on Highway 74 between Lake Elsinore and Perris the evening of Feb. 3. According to a report in The Press-Enterprise, the victim was traveling on a Suzuki dirt bike west on the 74 east of Hammack Avenue when a gray, four-door 2006 Ford F-250 that was heading east on the highway turned north on Hammack into the path of the dirt bike.
