A police dog trained to sniff out drugs ended up attacking a 5-year-old boy on the evening of Aug. 3 during a National Night Out event in South Pasadena.

The local event, set up to build relationships between police and the community, ended with a youngster suffering significant wounds from the dog attack, that seemed to come without warning.

According to a news report in the Pasadena Star News, Sebastian Forbes had to get stitches for bite wounds from the attack on the left side of his face, near his eye, and on his ear along with bruising on his neck and shoulder. Continue reading →

Sara Cervantes says she is seeking justice for her 14-year-old son, Isaac Cota, who was seriously injured in a bicycle accident she says was caused by a California Highway Patrol officer who then drove away from the scene.

Deanna Stuve, 48, was killed and her 50-year-old husband, Frederick, suffered major injuries in a Huntington Beach pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver.

According to a KTLA news report, the husband and wife were crossing at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street the night of July 25 when the driver of a Nissan Altima ran a red light northbound on PCH and struck them.

Police said the pedestrians were walking in a marked crosswalk. Deanna Stuve was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was transported to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition. Continue reading →

A man attempting to cross a street while in a wheelchair died from injuries he suffered after a minivan and an SUV struck him early on the morning of July 10.

According to a report in The Orange County Register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred near the intersection of Euclid Street and Warner Avenue in Fountain Valley.
