A 22-year-old Anaheim woman has been fatally injured in a Long Beach pedestrian accident, which officials said, involved a suspected hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the Orange County Register, police responded to he 5500 block of East Second Street early morning on Oct. 28 and found the woman lying in the street. Police have arrested a driver in connection with a Pasadena hit-and-run collision that killed 27-year-old Jessica Torres Oct. 21. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, police have arrested 24-year-old Francisco Javier Soto-Cedillo on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit and run. He also had an outstanding DUI warrant, police said. But it is not known whether the fatal hit and run involved driving under the influence. Continue reading →

A charter bus crash in the San Fernando Valley sent dozens of people to the hospital and triggered additional crashes. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred the afternoon of Oct. 14 when the bus that was traveling north on the 405 Freeway in the North Hills area crashed into a number of other vehicles. The bus then slammed through the concrete center divider sending it into the other side of the freeway. It then struck a number of vehicles in the southbound lanes. Continue reading →

A 77-year-old woman is recovering from injuries she suffered in a dog attack after the animals attacked her during a morning stroll. According to an NBC Los Angeles news report, the victim was bitten several times by two dogs. The incident occurred near the intersection of College and Norwood avenues just north of La Sierra University’s campus. Nine children were injured, five seriously, in a Dana Point van accident after a passenger van carrying children from a childcare center, crashed into a tree the afternoon of Oct. 3. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred near Dana Point Harbor Drive and Cove Road. Five of the patients, ages 9 to 12, were transported to an area trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries. Four other children received treatment for relatively minor injuries. Jade Maldonado, 14, was killed in a San Bernardino pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the teen was struck near Glasgow Avenue and Pacific Street the morning of Sept. 28. Police say she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk on her way to Pacific High School when a vehicle, described as a tan 2000 to 2004 GMC SUV traveling at about 40 to 50 mph, struck her and kept on driving. Oscar Martinez, 33, was killed in a Lake Forest pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the evening of Sept. 24. Witnesses reported the man lying in the street suffering from a head injury near the intersection of Ridge Route Drive and Rockfield Boulevard. A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Downtown Los Angeles the afternoon of Sept. 21. According to a KTLA news report, the person who was hit at the intersection of Fifth Street and Broadway, sustained life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital. Officials did not say whether the ambulance was transporting anyone at the time of the collision. No other information was released. Los Angeles Police Department officials are investigation the incident.

According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred early morning on Sept. 20 at the intersection of La Habra and Harbor boulevards. Nazarey Flores Arizmendi, a 2-year-old boy, was killed after he was struck by a commercial truck in Moreno Valley the morning of Sept. 12. According to a KTLA news report, firefighters responded to the 24000 block of Fir Avenue after getting a report of a child hit by a commercial vehicle. They arrived at the scene and found the young boy dead. The Coroner’s report said the boy dead about eight minutes after being struck. No other details were immediately provided about the incident. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a part in this incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Continue reading →
