Patricia McFarland, 63, sustained major injuries in a San Francisco car accident after her vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver who also left the scene of the crash. According to a news report in the Record-Bee, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Soda Bay and Mission Rancheria roads in Lake County on June 5, 2010. California Highway Patrol officials say Thomas Mello, 40, was traveling east on Soda Bay Road in a 1990 Ford Explorer when he failed to yield right-of-way to a westbound 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by McFarland. He made a left turn directly into her path. McFarland was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

San Diego Pedestrian Accident Causes Serious Injuries
A 69-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a FedEx delivery truck while walking in a marked crosswalk, the morning of June 3, 2010. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the man was crossing Federal Boulevard at 50th Street, when a FedEx driver who was exiting a strip mall failed to see the pedestrian in the crosswalk and struck him. The man suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung. His injuries, however, are not believed to be life-threatening. Officials are still in the process of determining whether any charges will be filed against the driver of the FedEx truck.

Day One of the AIDS/Lifecycle event with Lorraine Glenn

Man Injured in San Francisco Bicycle Accident
A bicyclist was injured in a San Francisco car accident after he was struck by a Municipal Railway streetcar. CBS News reports that the injury collision occurred the night of June 2, 2010 at the corner of Market and 7th streets. The injured bicyclist was taken to a nearby medical center. The extent of his injuries is not know.

Mother of two from Mission Viejo, California, Loree Glenn is getting ready to begin her 545-mile bicycle trek for the Lifecycle event. On Sunday she will take-off from San Francisco and ride through California to Los Angeles. The event is designed to raise awareness of the human suffering caused by the AIDS pandemic. Pit Bull Attacks and Kills Toddler in San Bernardino
Recently there have been several dog bite incidents involving young children or infants in the San Bernardino area. On May 27, 2010, there was yet another tragedy when 2-year-old Nathan Aguirre was mauled to death by his family’s pit bull in the backyard of his own home. The San Bernardino Sun reports that the fatal dog attack occurred when Nathan’s father stepped inside their home for a few moments after playing with Nathan and their two pit bulls in the backyard. Moments later Nathan’s mother found the dog attacking the child. By the time, the child was transported to the hospital, it was too late. He had already suffered fatal head and neck injuries.
I offer my deepest condolences to the parents of this child for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. They will be in my prayers.

San Bernardino Car Accident Injures Three
Three people were injured in a San Bernardino car accident the morning of May 26, 2010, according to a news report in the Victorville Daily Press. The injury accident occurred on Highway 395 in Hesperia and involved three vehicles. A 2009 Ford pickup truck was traveling south on the highway, between Bear Valley Road and Main Street, when the driver got distracted, crossed the double yellow lines, and entered into the path of a Lincoln Town Car that was going north on the highway.
The driver of the Lincoln sustained major injuries in the collision. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said the driver of a Kia who swerved to avoid the wreckage almost fell into the California Aqueduct. Thankfully, the vehicle was held back by three strands of barbed wire. The driver of the Kia was also injured, but the extent of his injuries is not known.

Mission Viejo Mother Joins 545-Mile Bike Ride in Support of the AIDS Foundation
Mission Viejo mother, Lorraine Glenn, is gearing up for the AIDS/LifeCycle event, a rigorous and demanding seven day journey down the California coast. The 545-mile stretch will begin this Sunday in San Francisco and end in Los Angeles. Lorraine has set out on this journey to help end the pandemic and human suffering caused by AIDS.
The AIDS/LifeCycle ride raises funds to support services provided by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation to HIV/AIDS victims.

A 45-year-old man was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after his SUV crashed into a disabled vehicle on the 101 Freeway the morning of June 1, 2010. According to a KTLA News report, the fatal car crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the freeway, near Highland Avenue, and involved three vehicles.
