Police are searching for three men in connection with a hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles, which left 33-year-old Ronal Merdio Villatoro dead. According to a KTLA news report, surveillance footage released by the LAPD shows a green pickup truck run a red light just before the fatal collision on Feb. 24. A woman was fatally struck and injured in a pedestrian accident in Lancaster, which officials say was the second vehicle versus pedestrian incident in five days in the area. According to the Antelope Valley Press, the collision occurred the evening of Jan. 10 on 20th Street West, south of Avenue I. Preliminary investigations show that a man driving a Ford Escape was traveling north on 20th Street West when he struck the pedestrian. She was walking across 20th Street West. An 8-year-old girl was rescued by firefighters from a Pomona home after a Christmas tree caught fire, trapping her in the bathroom of her family’s apartment. According to a KTLA news report, the fire broke out at the two-story apartment building, located at 1614 E. Kingsley Street. A tanker truck carrying milk overturned on the southbound 5 Freeway in Boyle Heights crushing an SUV when it flipped over. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, at least two people – the driver of the milk truck and the driver of the SUV – suffered injuries and were transported to an area hospital. Police are searching for a motorcyclist who they say fled the scene after running over a 6-year-old boy who was riding a scooter. The incident occurred on the evening of Oct. 25 near the intersection of Cobalt Street and Encinitas Avenue in Sylmar. The child was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash. A Newport Beach woman who was walking her dog the morning of Sunday, Sept. 6, was struck and killed by a man who ended up leaving the scene of the crash. According to a news report in the Orange County Register, the woman was walking her dog and crossing the street at Irvine Avenue and Mesa Drive when the driver of a silver Hyundai sedan ran a red light and struck her. The driver continued south on Irvine Avenue. The woman and her dog who were walking on the crosswalk died at the crash site. Continue reading →

A 6-year-old boy and 60-year-old man were fatally injured in a pedestrian accident after a pickup truck struck them as they crossed an intersection in Garden Grove. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the two pedestrians were at the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Benton Street when they were struck by a pickup truck the night of Oct. 26.
