A man in a wheelchair was fatally injured after a vehicle struck him when he was crossing a street in Santa Ana. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred at 100 N. Euclid Street the morning of Dec. 29. Santa Ana police officials said they found the man in the roadway suffering from major injuries and began to treat him. Los Angeles Police Department officials are asking for the public’s help finding the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left an 85-year-old woman dead. According to a KTLA news report, the incident occurred the evening of Dec. 27 when the victim was walking on Lankershim Boulevard in a marked crosswalk. A 42-year-old man was fatally injured in a pedestrian accident in San Bernardino, which officials say, involved a suspected DUI driver. According to a KTLA news report, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of 2nd and G streets the night of Dec. 27. Daniel “Dano” Patten, 66, a Southern California photographer who was well known for documenting the region’s car culture, was killed at an illegal street racing event in Carson on Dec. 25 after two vehicles veered into a group of spectators. According to a news report in The Daily Breeze, Patten, a Huntington Beach resident, was fatally struck near East 230th and Banning Streets while filming drag races at the illegal gathering. Jaylene Aguirre, 16, has been hospitalized in critical condition after she was struck by a pickup truck whose driver left the scene. According to an NBC news report, the major injury collision occurred on Dec. 25 near the girl’s home in Hemet. Aguirre and her boyfriend were riding his new minibike when they were struck by a Toyota truck. Cesar Osorio, 49, was killed in an Irwindale motorcycle accident after he lost control and crashed. According to a City News Service report, the crash occurred early morning on Dec. 19 near the intersection of Arrow Highway and Live Oak Avenue. Osorio was eastbound on Arrow Highway and struck the center divider where the roadway curves to meet Live Oak Avenue. He was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. An 8-year-old girl was rescued by firefighters from a Pomona home after a Christmas tree caught fire, trapping her in the bathroom of her family’s apartment. According to a KTLA news report, the fire broke out at the two-story apartment building, located at 1614 E. Kingsley Street. Nanci Perea Rosales, 69, suffered fatal injuries in a Santa Ana pedestrian accident the afternoon of Dec. 13. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Santa Ana police responded to calls of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision near Main Street and Alton Avenue. When officials responded, they found Rosales down in the roadway suffering from major injuries.
