LAPD officials are asking the public for help in their search for a hit-and-run driver who left the scene after fatally striking a female pedestrian in the Harvard Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles the night of Aug. 19.

Sara Cervantes says she is seeking justice for her 14-year-old son, Isaac Cota, who was seriously injured in a bicycle accident she says was caused by a California Highway Patrol officer who then drove away from the scene.

Deanna Stuve, 48, was killed and her 50-year-old husband, Frederick, suffered major injuries in a Huntington Beach pedestrian accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver.

According to a KTLA news report, the husband and wife were crossing at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street the night of July 25 when the driver of a Nissan Altima ran a red light northbound on PCH and struck them.

Police said the pedestrians were walking in a marked crosswalk. Deanna Stuve was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was transported to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition. Continue reading →

A man in his late 20s was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision the morning of July 1 on La Cienega Boulevard near the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. According to a City News Service report, the crash was reported on La Cienega at Imperial Highway. Police said the man was crossing La Cienega when he was struck by a vehicle that was southbound. The driver did not stop and kept going, officials said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a white recreational vehicle or camper, police said. No driver description was available. A hit and run driver left three girls dead and one other child hospitalized and then fled the scene with the car’s passenger. Sandra Mizer, 13, Willow Sanchez, 11, and Daytona Bronas, 12, were all killed in the fatal crash.

According to a report on NBC Los Angeles, the girls were involved in an accident when a vehicle struck them as they were walking along the northbound lane of Camp Rock Road.
