Hit-And-Run Accidents

If the details of this news report, the driver in this case not only struck and critically injured the pedestrian, but also left the scene without even stopping to help her. The law requires motorists to stop, remain at the scene and more importantly, get assistance for the injured victim. In this case, the motorist did none of these things. This person simply sped away. Appalling!

California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states: “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
