Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Car Accident Kills Man

By

Eugene Jackson, 33, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident that occurred at a city intersection early morning on May 15, 2010. According to a CBS News report, the fatal car accident happened when a Dodge Durango SUV ran a red light on South Figueroa Street at 135th Street, and sideswiped a blue 2009 Nissan Altima causing it to crash. Jackson, the driver of the Altima, was taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after the incident. Eyewitnesses told police that the driver and passengers of the Durango got out of the vehicle and fled the scene of the accident. LAPD officials say two men and one woman, who were all in the Durango, fled the crash scene on foot. Anyone with information is asked to contact LAPD South Traffic detectives at 1-877-LAPD-24-7.

Claim for Compensation

Families of deceased victims in such cases would be well-advised to consult with an experienced Los Angeles car accident lawyer, who will stay on top of the official investigation and make sure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. A knowledgeable car accident lawyer will also advise victims and their families about how their own car insurance policy applies to a hit-and-run collision or to an incident where the at-fault motorist is uninsured or underinsured.
