What Caused This Fatal Crash?
Based on this news report, it appears that this collision occurred at a fairly large intersection, which is controlled by traffic lights. When such collisions occur, there are a number of questions that come up. Did one of the drivers run a red light at the intersection? Did one of the vehicles fail to yield the right of way? Did distraction or inattention play a part in the crash? Were alcohol or drugs a factor in the collision?
In such cases, the at-fault driver can be held liable for the injuries, damages and losses caused. Injured victims can seek compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost wages, hospitalization, rehabilitation, pain and suffering and emotional distress. In cases where negligence or wrongdoing is involved, families of deceased victims can file a wrongful death claim seeking compensation for damages such as medical and funeral costs, lost future income and benefits, pain and suffering and loss of love and companionship.
