An elderly woman was seriously injured in a San Diego car accident, after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in the Rancho Penasquitos area, the North County Times reports. The pedestrian accident occurred on Aldohia Street the afternoon of December 10, 2009. The woman, who was crossing Aldohia, was struck by a westbound Ford Explorer. She suffered a fractured pelvis and a broken leg. San Diego police officials are looking into what caused this injury pedestrian accident.

There were 25 deaths and 575 injuries in San Diego as a result of pedestrian accidents, according to California Highway Patrol’s 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS).
