Two Injured in Orange County Car Accident

By

A mother and her 4-year-old were seriously injured in a Santa Ana car accident, which police say, was caused by an unlicensed driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the pedestrian accident took place in the 1200 block of East McFadden Avenue in Santa Ana the morning of October 20, 2010.

Eric Christopher Woodward, 39, was driving a Ford Crown Victoria when he suffered a grand mal seizure and lost control of the vehicle. His 65-year-old mother grabbed the wheel and overcompensated turning the car into a woman who was pushing her young son in a stroller. The child is in critical condition and the mother suffered a broken shoulder. Police are waiting to determine the severity of the injuries suffered before citing Woodward for the car accident and for driving without a license.

My thoughts and prayers are with the mother and the young boy injured in this horrific pedestrian accident. I wish them both a complete and speedy recovery.
