What Caused This Collision?

Based on this news report, it appears that the motorcycle and the other vehicle collided head-on on Santiago Canyon Road near the intersection of Loma Ridge Trail. Santiago Canyon Road is a winding road, which requires the highest level of alertness from all motorists.

There are a number of unanswered questions here.

Did the other vehicle make an unsafe turn in front of the motorcyclist? Did one of the vehicles veer into opposing lanes of traffic? Did alcohol or drugs play a part? Was one of the drivers distracted or inattentive? Did excessive speed or reckless vehicle operation play a part in this major injury crash?

We trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.
