Nicklaus Carothers, 26, was killed in a motorcycle accident after a left-turning taxicab struck him at a street intersection in Santa Ana. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the evening of November 30, 2017. Police said the taxicab was northbound on Bristol Street and was turning left onto Santa Clara Avenue when it collided with the southbound motorcycle. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Officials do not suspect that the driver of the taxi was under the influence. A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Laguna Beach car accident after colliding with a vehicle that was making a left turn out of a home. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the morning of October 15, 2017 in the 2900 block of Laguna Canyon Road. According to a news report in the Santa Clarita Signal, the collision between the motorcycle and car occurred near the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Valencia Boulevard. Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the incident. The car sustained front-end damage from the collision. David Rorex, 34, was killed in a Santa Ana motorcycle accident after an SUV struck him while pulling out of a driveway. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the incident occurred the morning of August 18, 2017 in the 4800 block of West First Street. The SUV was pulling out of a residential driveway. The motorcycle was heading west on First Street when it broadsided the SUV as it was coming out of the driveway. Rorex was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved. No citations or arrests were reported. Armando Vega Andrade, 20, was killed in a Fountain Valley motorcycle accident after he was struck by an SUV that was making a U-turn the night of March 24, 2017. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the SUV was southbound on Brookhurst Street near Heil Avenue when the driver made a U-turn at Heil.

The oncoming motorcycle struck the right side of the SUV. Andrade died at the scene. The SUV’s driver stopped and cooperated with police. No citations or arrests were reported. Nicholas Scott Truex, 28, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Placentia after a vehicle struck him at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred the evening of February 1, 2016. Truex was riding his motorcycle east on Chapman Avenue just past Placentia Avenue when he collided with a truck that was attempting to make a left turn onto Murray Street. Truex was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, a 57-year-old man, suffered relatively minor injuries, officials said. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a part. A 22-year-old man identified as Ryan Quay was killed in a motorcycle accident in Irvine at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the crash was reported the evening of January 24, 2017 at the intersection of Jeronimo Road and Alton Parkway. Firefighters found Quay unresponsive and attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterward. The driver of the car was not injured and remained and the scene to cooperate with the police. No arrests or citations were reported. Officials are still looking into what caused the collision.
