Anaheim Car Accident Injures Motorcyclist

By

An Orange County car accident involving a Chevrolet Trailblazer, an Audi, a Honda Accord and a Kawasaki motorcycle resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist and a passenger in the Trailblazer. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred on westbound 91 Freeway, near North Lakeview Avenue, in Anaheim, the morning of September 14, 2011. It is unclear from the report as to what may have caused the multiple vehicle collision. The two injured victims of the crash were transported to the hospital by ambulance. An investigation is ongoing.

My thoughts and prayers are with the two injured victims of this Orange County car accident. I wish them a complete and speedy recovery.

Motorcycle Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2009 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), three people were killed and 105 were injured in Anaheim motorcycle accidents. During that same year, 17 fatalities and 735 injuries occurred involving Orange County motorcycle accidents.

What Caused This Crash?

At this time, it is not clear what may have caused the four vehicles to collide. There are many questions investigators will have to answer. Did one of the drivers make an unsafe lane change? Were speed or alcohol factors in this multi-vehicle collision? Was this a rear-end collision where one vehicle was following too closely and couldn’t stop in time to avoid the crash? Did distracted driving play a part in this crash? I trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.

Liability Issues

Victims of Orange County car accidents may seek financial compensation for their injuries by filing a personal injury claim. Injured victims can seek compensation from the at-fault party for damages including medical expenses, loss of earnings, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation, and other related damages. Victims would be well-advised to contact an experienced Anaheim personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all facets of the incident and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. The best personal injury law firms will always offer a free consultation and comprehensive case evaluation to car accident victims and their families.
