Every city experiences car collisions and victims will sometimes experience catastrophic injuries. Although most cities experience their fair share of problems, San Bernardino has been experiencing them at an alarming rate.

Weighing in at the 18th largest city in California, San Bernardino is a sizable city to say the least. Some of their major attractions include Robert V. Fullerton Museum of Art, the California Theatre, and the Fox Performing Arts Center among others.

Dog Bites

In addition to car accidents, another dangerous and terrifying injury one might become a victim of is dog attacks. A news report released by the San Bernardino Sun told the story of a 4-year-old who was bitten in the face by her uncle’s pit bull. The girl was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Another 4-year-old boy sustained injures in a >San Bernardino dog bite incident while playing in a relative’s yard. The young boy was playing with a toy when a pit bull attacked the young child without warning. The boy’s mother and grandmother rushed to the child to free him. The boy suffered from bites to the back of his head, buttocks, arms, and hands. Both the mother and grandmother were also injured.

The owners of a dog in California are held liable under the “strict liability statute.” The California Civil Code Section 3342 states: “The owner of any dog is liable for the damages suffered by any person who is bitten by the dog while in a public place or lawfully in a private place, including the property of the owner of the dog, regardless of the former viciousness of the dog or the owner’s knowledge of such viciousness.”

San Bernardino is home to a number of lakes and rivers. Over the years a number of boating accidents have been reported. These accidents can result in serious personal injury or wrongful death.

Russell Beck, 45, was riding west of the river in his 2000 Ultra jet boat with three passengers when tragedy struck. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, Kirk Tahmizian was speeding near Beck’s jet boat in a 27-foot Calibre powerboat. The two boats collided and one of the passengers, Rhoades, was taken to the hospital with serious back injuries. Beck was arrested on suspicion of felony boating under the influence with injuries, and officials may file charges against Tahmizian for causing the collision.
