Potential Causes and Liability Issues

Based on this news report, it appears that this fatal motorcycle accident occurred at a street intersection. According to NHTSA, a vast majority of motorcycle accidents involving other vehicles occur at street intersections. One of the most common causes of these types of accidents is a failure on the part of the other driver to yield the right of way to the oncoming motorcyclist. In such cases, there may be other factors at play including speeding, reckless driving, distracted driving, etc. We trust officials are investigating this particular incident to determine who was at fault.

In cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been involved, families of deceased accident victims may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit seeking compensation for damages such as medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income, pain and suffering and loss of love, care and companionship.

Families would be well advised to contact an experienced Orange County motorcycle accident lawyer who will stay abreast of the official investigation and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. It is also important to preserve the motorcycle so an expert can examine the vehicle for all possible evidence.
