Driver to Face Murder Charges Over Bloomington DUI Crash

The car Conchola was driving also crashed into a home, causing part of the structure to collapse. The five people inside the home were not injured. Rialto police were pursuing Conchola for a few minutes before the crash. Colton police said they had also been trying to stop the man, who had been driving recklessly. They said Conchola almost hit a police cruiser and was driving at dangerous speeds. Both Conchola and his passenger were taken to a hospital. Officials said Conchola will face murder charges when released.

We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Aaron Mcdonald and Irene Jaramillo for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Reckless Driving Allegations

Based on this news report, it is suspected that the driver, Alejandro Conchola, was not only driving under the influence and in a reckless manner but also ran the red light at an intersection when he struck the victims’ vehicle. Under California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a), it is illegal to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. A driver whose act of driving under the influence results in the death of another person will likely face vehicular manslaughter charges under California Penal Code section 191.5 (a) or even murder charges, as Conchola does in this case.

In such cases, at-fault drivers can be held financially responsible for the losses caused by a crash and face criminal penalties. Families of deceased DUI crash victims may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault parties seeking compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income, and loss of love, care, and companionship. An experienced DUI victims’ lawyer, based in San Bernardino County and with experience in car crash cases, will be able to advise families regarding their legal rights and options.
