Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident Injures Young Trick-or-Treater

By

A hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles left a 3-year-old trick-or-treater with critical head injuries the night of October 31, 2010. The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the girl was walking with her aunt at the intersection of 77th Street and Avalon Boulevard in the Florence area of south Los Angeles when a red Toyota hit them. The girl sustained severe head trauma, but is expected to survive. Her aunt suffered injuries to her hand. The hit-and-run driver is still at large.

I hope the little girl has not suffered catastrophic injuries in this pedestrian accident. I wish both the injured victims the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Leaving the Scene of a Car Accident

I certainly hope that this dangerous driver is apprehended and brought to justice. This was a driver who ran down a little girl out trick or treating on Halloween night and then left her with major head injuries on the roadway. Despicable! Hit-and-run is an inhumane, heartless act and it is against California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a). It would be in the best interests of injured victims in such cases to get the help and guidance of a skilled Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will advise them about their legal rights and options. If a dangerous roadway condition caused or contributed to this accident, the city or governmental agency responsible for maintaining that roadway could also be held liable. Please remember that any personal injury or wrongful death claim against a California public entity must be properly filed within six months of the incident.
