Hit-and-Run Car Collision

Cruz appears to have suffered serious injuries in this hit-and-run car collision and I sympathize with him and his family for what they are going through at this time. It is appalling that a driver would hit someone and leave that person injured on the roadway without even stopping to assist the victim. Despicable! I hope officials soon find this hit-and-run driver and bring him or her to justice. As California personal injury lawyers, who represent victims of car accidents and their families, we are particularly outraged by accidents that involve a hit-and-run driver. Our web site, www.hitandrunreward.com, was born out of this outrage and is dedicated to eradicating this serious crime. It should never be acceptable for anyone to hit someone and leave them injured or to die on the street. This outright abandonment of accountability is and should be unacceptable. If you have information about this hit-and-run incident, please visit our web site, www.hitandrunreward.com to offer an anonymous tip and become eligible for a $1,000 reward.

Laws and Compensation Issues

In this particular case, it is not clear how or why this motorcycle accident occurred. We do not know who was at fault. But California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states more than clearly that motorists are required to stop at the scene and remain until authorities arrive, regardless of who is at fault.

Those who are injured as a result of someone else’s negligence or wrongdoing can seek compensation for their injuries, damages and losses. An experienced California car accident attorney will be able advise victims about how the uninsured/underinsured clause of their car insurance policy might apply to a hit-and-run car collision or to an incident where the at-fault motorist is uninsured or underinsured.

What do you think should be done to deter drivers from leaving the scene of a traffic accident?

Hit and Run accidents in British Columbia are paid out by the Insurance Corporation of BC and, among other things, you have to prove you cannot reasonably identify the driver or owner of the other vehicle.
