Los Angeles Fatal Car Accident

By

Two women, Karla Castillo and Cindy Luna, were killed and four others were injured in a Los Angeles car accident early morning August 2, 2009, the Daily Breeze reports. The fatal car crash occurred when the driver of a 1998 BMW 328i coupe traveling on the 110 Freeway, attempted to take the Glenn Anderson 105 Freeway eastbound exit, but passed the off ramp, California Highway Patrol officials said. The 20-year-old Downey woman then turned her car sharply to the right and crossed over the raised gore point causing the vehicle to roll over several times. Los Angeles fire officials declared two women dead at the scene. They had been ejected from the car, officials said. Four other young women were taken to hospitals with serious to critical injuries.

I offer my deepest condolences to the families of Karla Castillo and Cindy Luna who were killed in this car accident. I also wish the injured victims the very best for a quick and complete recovery. Please keep them in your prayers.

Los Angeles Car Accident Statistics

Based on this news report, it is not clear what exactly caused the driver to lose control of the BMW. There is a chance that this was an error on the part of the driver. The news report does not say whether the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident or not. There may also be several other reasons for this car crash. There could have been a dangerous condition of the roadway that caused the driver to lose control and crash. There may have been a defective auto product or vehicle defect that caused her BMW to malfunction. Another vehicle may have been involved, possibly running this driver off the road. We will not know all the details until a thorough investigation is completed.

Contacting a Los Angeles Car Accident Attorney

However, individuals seriously hurt in such car accidents would be well-advised to retain the services of an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will help analyze all aspects of the incident and determine the facts of the case. A skilled Los Angeles personal injury lawyer will also help determine whether a dangerous condition on the roadway caused or contributed to the fatal car crash. If that was the case, the governmental agency responsible for maintaining that roadway could be held liable. Please remember that any claim against a governmental agency in California must be properly filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.
