Fiery fatal crash: Two people were killed and a third person was injured in a fiery three-vehicle crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles, according to a news article in the Daily Breeze. Firefighters responded to a burning Ford Mustang. A man and a woman who were inside were declared dead. The driver of a large SUV suffered minor injuries and the driver of a minivan escaped without injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
“I blacked out:” A female driver reportedly struck a diesel truck and another vehicle on the 10 Freeway in Fontana after “blacking out” when she was driving. The accident did not cause any major injuries.
Broadside crash: A Fontana man died after a Mercedes broadsided the 1994 Toyota Camry he was driving, an article in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin said. Abraham Padilla, 59, died after the crash at Jurupa and Catawba avenues. He was traveling north on Jurupa when he was hit by the Mercedes.
Sun Valley crash: A 37-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash on the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley, according to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News. It is not clear how the single-vehicle crash occurred, but fire officials said they had to extricate the injured woman from the vehicle. She is listed in serious condition.
Fatal accident: A La Mirada man died in a crash on the 605 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs after he lost control of his vehicle while exiting the freeway plummeting over the side of the off-ramp, the Whittier Daily News reported. A female passenger also suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Orange County accident: An Orange County sheriff’s captain was taken to the hospital after his unmarked police vehicle was rear-ended on the 5 Freeway in Irvine, The Orange County Register reported. The officer was slowing down because of traffic and his vehicle was pushed to the vehicle ahead of him because of the impact.
