Bicyclist In Palmdale Fatally Injured In Accident

A woman was killed in a bicycle accident after she was struck by a vehicle the evening of October 11, 2014.

According to a CBS Los Angeles, the accident occurred at the intersection of Longview and LePage Ranch Roads.

California Highway Patrol officials said the woman was killed east of Littlerock near the Devil’s Punchbowl in the southeast Antelope Valley.

The victim was
pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2012 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there was one fatality and 39 injuries as a result of bicycle accidents in Palmdale.

In Los Angeles County as a whole, 29 people died and 4,926 were injured due to bicycle collisions during the same year.
