Driver Injured in Anaheim Car Accident

By

A man was injured in an Anaheim car accident, which officials say involved three vehicles. According to The Orange County Register, the rollover accident occurred at the intersection of Ball Road and West Place near Disneyland, the morning of May 18, 2012. Officials say a red Acura Integra was cut off by a white Toyota Tundra at the intersection. The two vehicles collided and the Acura spun around, flipped on to its side and struck a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck. After being extricated by emergency crews, the driver of the Acura was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. It is not clear if the driver of the Tundra will be cited for the accident.

My thoughts and prayers are with the injured victim of this rollover accident. I wish him the very best for a complete and speedy recovery.

Orange County Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2009 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 23 people were killed and 1,970 were injured in Anaheim car accidents. During that same year, 141 fatalities and 13,373 injuries occurred as a result of Orange County car accidents.

What Caused This Rollover Accident?

Based on the news account, the driver of the white Toyota Tundra cut off the Acura causing the accident. Was the Tundra’s driver speeding or driving recklessly? Did he or she make an unsafe lane change? Did alcohol, drugs, distracted driving or some other form of negligence cause or contribute to the incident? California Vehicle Code Section 21658 (a) states that whenever a roadway has been divided into two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction the vehicle “shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.”

Liability Issues

In this particular case, if the driver of the Tundra is determined to have been at fault, he or she can be held liable for the injuries and damages caused. Injured victims can seek compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of earnings, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and other related damages. Car accident victims would also be well advised to contact an experienced Anaheim personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all aspects of the incident and ensure that the negligent parties are held liable. The best personal injury law firms will always offer a free consultation and comprehensive case evaluation to injured victims and their families.
