Tustin Personal Injury

Columbus Tustin, a Northern California carriage maker purchased 1,300 acres of what had been the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana for the price of one dollar and fifty cents per acre. Mr. Tustin attempted to create "Tustin City," but sales of home sites were slow, and in the early 1870s he ended up giving free lots to anyone who would build a home.

By the turn of the century, groves of apricots and walnuts were gradually being replaced by the more profitable Valencia oranges. During World War II, three military bases were established in nearby bean fields and unincorporated areas in proximity to Tustin including the navy's Lighter-Than-Air Base (where the huge hangers housed coast-patrolling blimps). Literally, there were only about 900 residents in the city until the building boom of the mid century.

In the 1950s, Tustin's growth began in earnest. The orchards were developed by builders and by 1970 the population had jumped to 32,000. Growth was a painful process as houses replaced orange groves. Tract after tract replaced grove after grove.

Seton Medical Center Fined for Resident Death

February 9, 2012--Daly City, CA-- The California Department of Public Health cited a local resident care facility, Seton Medical Center, with the maximum allowable fine by law after an investigation uncovered inadequate care in the wrongful death of a resident. The patient, who was not identified in the report, was said to have died after proper respiratory care was withheld by the staff at the Medical Center.

Public health officials announced Tuesday Seton Medical Center, 1900 Sullivan Avenue, received a $100,000 fine after an investigation into the death of a resident. The officials found that the staff had been negligent in providing proper care, and cited the facility with a class “AA” citation, which carries the maximum financial penalty.

I want to extend my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim in this case for the loss of their loved one.

Nursing Home Accident Statistics

Deaths in nursing homes due to negligence are, unfortunately, not as uncommon as many would believe. Overworked and underpaid staff lead to neglect of necessary care. In 2005, 91.7 percent of all nursing homes in the United States were cited by health inspectors for some form of violation. In 1999, 5,000 deaths nationwide were attributed to poor nursing home care. Experts estimate that one in three nursing home residents will experience some form of neglect or abuse during their stay.

Personal Injury Attorney Laguna Niguel

Personal injuries happen every day, yet most people never recover the money for their injuries, medical bills, lost time at work, and pain and suffering to which they are entitled by law and by right. Personal injuries may be minor or severe, but they all have one thing in common: they are caused by someone’s negligence.

Perhaps you have experienced a slip and fall accident because an employee of a company failed to clean up a spill or to warn customers appropriately. Perhaps you were the victim of a car accident because someone carelessly ran a red light. Perhaps you were injured by a product you purchased which did not function correctly. In each of these cases, someone was responsible for your injuries, and it is only right that the person or company responsible should pay for your damages. If you are a victim of personal injury accidents, a professional personal injury attorney will be able to help determine whether or not you have a case.

Pfizer Recall Lawsuits Coming Soon

Wrongful Pregnancy LawyersA massive Pfizer birth control recall has been issued after a packaging error was discovered in early February. As of today, 1 million pill packages have been recalled after several were found to have the wrong number of active tablets. Some packages have too many while others have too few, and those who are taking Pfizer brand birth control will soon find whether the mix up will result in unanticipated pregnancies.

As of now, it is too early to assess the damage inflicted by Pfizer's error, but our history with manufacturers who have failed to properly produce their products as advertised tells us that this may lead to a number of Pfizer recall lawsuits. Women who have been taking Lo/Ovral tablets, Norgestrel, and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets may find themselves in a position for which they took the necessary precautions to prevent. If so, they may have a claim for compensation against the products manufacturers, as well as any other entity that is found responsible for the mix up.
