A 45-year-old man suffered critical injuries in an Anaheim car accident after he was struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene. According to a City News Service report, the major injury collision occurred early morning on July 27, 2011 in the 2100 block of South Harbor Boulevard near Orangewood Avenue. Officials say the pedestrian was walking across the southbound lanes when he was hit by a Toyota pickup truck. The driver did not stop and kept going. Police are asking witnesses to contact them and help with the investigation. Officials say the Toyota pickup likely has front-end damage. Arthur John Jacobs, 64, was fatally injured in a San Diego car accident after his bicycle was struck by a suspected drunk driver. According to a 10News report, the fatal bicycle accident occurred the night of July 27, 2011 near the intersection of El Camino Real and Cassia Street in Carlsbad.

Witnesses told officials that the 23-year-old driver, later identified as Julianne Elyse Thomson, crashed into a curb and some bushes and sped away into an apartment parking lot. Jacobs was found lying on the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene. Police found Thomson hiding in the bushes shortly afterward. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI, vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.

Jaqueline Sharp, 46, was seriously injured in a San Bernardino dog bite incident involving two pit bulls. According to KCDZ radio, the dog attack occurred on Balboa in Yucca Valley, the morning of July 25, 2011. Officials say the woman was viciously attacked by the two dogs in a neighbor's driveway. Other neighbors who witnessed the attack restrained the dogs and contacted the authorities. Sharp was severely injured in the attack and suffered multiple dog bites to her arms. It is unclear from the report who owned the dogs, if they had a history of being dangerous, or what they were doing off-leash.

A U.S. Marine was injured in an Orange County car accident that involved an overturned big rig. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the truck accident occurred on southbound 5 Freeway near Christianitos Road in San Clemente, the morning of July 25, 2011. California Highway Patrol officials say a big rig sideswiped a Honda and fled the scene of the crash. Then, a box truck attempted to avoid the Honda and ended up striking another vehicle, before rolling onto its side. The Marine sustained non-life-threatening injuries in this crash.

Kelly Pham, 21, of La Mirada, was killed in a Fullerton car accident, which officials say, involved a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal DUI collision occurred when the driver, 23-year-old Justin Drake, was speeding in a 2006 Mazda westbound on Malvern Avenue, near Woods Avenue, the morning of July 24, 2011.

Police say he lost control of the car at a curve and struck a tree and retaining wall. Pham, who sustained critical injuries, was transported to a local hospital where she died. Drake was also injured, but was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact Fullerton police at 714-738-6716.

A woman in her 20s was killed and another man was injured in a Huntington Beach car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Orange County register, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred early morning on July 22, 2011 at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Atlanta Avenue.

Officials say the pedestrians were walking in a lighted crosswalk when they were struck by the driver, who was southbound on Brookhurst. The male suspect fled the scene, but was arrested three hours later in Laguna Beach on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. The woman died at the scene and the male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Louis Gabor, 67, died this Tuesday as a result of injuries he had suffered in a Long Beach car accident. According to a news report in The Press-Telegram, the fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Bixby Road and Cherry Avenue in Long Beach, the morning of July 6, 2011, when Gabor's bicycle was struck by a Chevy S-10 pickup truck. Police say the 66-year-old driver of the pickup truck ran a red light and struck Gabor. The bicyclist suffered critical injuries and died from his injuries July 19, 2011. Officials are in the process of determining if the driver of the pickup truck should face vehicular manslaughter charges.

Bo Feng, 17, was killed in an Alhambra car accident after she was struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked crosswalk. According to a news report in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal car accident occurred the night of July 15, 2011, at the intersection of New Avenue and Shorb Avenue. Officials say a 73-year-old man who hit Feng fled the scene of the crash. Feng died a few hours after the collision. Police are investigating this hit-and-run car accident.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family members and friends of Bo Feng for their tragic and heartbreaking loss. Apparently, Feng had recently been accepted to San Diego State and was looking forward to "dorm shopping." What a horrific tragedy!

A 28-year-old man was killed in an Anaheim car accident, which officials say, involved a drunk driver, early morning on July 17, 2011. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal DUI collision occurred on the southbound 5 Freeway, near Disneyland Drive, in Anaheim. A 28-year-old female driver of a 2002 GMC pickup changed lanes and struck the back of a 1995 Mercury Villager. The GMC then veered out of control, onto a steep embankment and rolled over several times. A male passenger in the GMC was killed and the driver suffered major injuries. She was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Thomas Michael Skelly, 35, was severely injured in a Costa Mesa car accident involving a collision between a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the motorcycle accident occurred in the 1600 block of Superior Avenue in Costa Mesa, the night of July 15, 2011. Skelly was travelling southbound when the driver of the Jeep that was heading north turned left. The Jeep pulled ahead of Skelly's motorcycle and the vehicles collided head-on. Skelly suffered serious injuries in the collision and was transported to an area trauma center. Investigators are searching for witnesses to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

A 2-month old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after he was struck by a vehicle on July 14, 2011. According to a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the major injury collision occurred on Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles, when the driver of a Cadillac DeVille was attempting to park near 4th and Spring streets. Officials say the driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The car jumped the curb and struck a stroller with the infant inside. The baby was transported to an area hospital. The child's mother was not injured. An investigation is ongoing.

Three people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which officials say, was caused by a drunk driver, the night of July 13, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the injury crash occurred at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilkinson Avenue in the Valley Glen area of Los Angeles. The crash involved a taxicab and two other vehicles. Three people including the suspect were transported to a local hospital with injuries, but they are all expected to survive. Police arrested one man on suspicion of driving under the influence a day after the crash.

Sabino Ramirez, 46, was injured in an Orange County car accident involving a hit-and-run driver, the night of July 11, 2011. According to a City News Service report, the hit-and-run crash occurred near the Euclid Street off ramp of the 91 Freeway in Fullerton. Ramirez was riding his bicycle when a burgundy or purple Jeep or Toyota SUV struck him. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officials are looking for the hit-and-run suspect. Jesus Martinez, 57, and a police officer were both injured in two separate dog bite incidents involving the same aggressive pit bull. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the dog attacks occurred near State Street in Montclair, the morning of July 9, 2011. Martinez was out walking his dogs when a pit bull attacked him and bit both his arms. A couple of police officers tracked down the dog. The pit bull attacked the officers as well. One of the officers suffered bites to his left hand and his left thigh. The second officer fatally shot the pit bull during the attack. Martinez was treated at the scene of the incident and the officer was treated at a nearby hospital. It is not clear who owned the pit bull.

A man in his 50s was seriously injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to an ABC 7 news report, the hit-and-run crash occurred the night of July 8, 2011 on South Santa Fe Avenue in Huntington Park. Officials have not released the name of the victim or how the crash occurred. The report does state that the man suffered serious injuries when the car struck him. Police are looking for the suspect vehicle that may have damage to its right front headlight and turn signal.

The Bard Avaulta mesh was designed to help those who suffer from P.O.P., but it is becoming evident that the risks associated with the device far outweigh the benefits.

A motorcycle officer was injured in an Anaheim car accident after he was struck by a car that was making a left turn at an intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue the afternoon of July 7, 2011. Officials say the police officer's motorcycle was northbound on Harbor when it was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala that was turning left from Harbor onto Lincoln. The officer was hospitalized with injuries, but he is expected to survive. Police investigators are looking into which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time.

According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the night of July 5, 2011 in the 6700 block of Garden Grove Boulevard. Officials say the man got out of his pickup truck to retrieve a cardboard box when he was struck by a pickup in the number two eastbound lane. The victim was transported to a local trauma center with a skull fracture and a broken leg. An investigation is ongoing.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area trauma center for treatment. Police arrested the driver, 31-year-old Michael David of Los Angeles, on suspicion of felony drunk driving. David was previously convicted of DUI in 2005.

California Highway Patrol officials say a Toyota 4Runner was stopped on the freeway for unknown reasons when the woman's older model Chevy pickup truck slammed into it. The woman was transported to an area trauma center in critical condition. The man in the SUV sustained relatively minor injuries and was arrested later on suspicion of drunk driving.
