Flores was working for the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the truck was hospitalized for a reportedly unrelated condition. Manuel Cadena, 64, was killed in a Victorville car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Palmdale Road, near Borego Road, the night of June 26, 2011. The driver left the scene.

Officials found Cadena lying on the roadway and transported him to a local hospital where he died. Eyewitnesses have described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark green or black SUV, possibly a Toyota. A wheelchair-bound pedestrian was fatally injured in a San Diego car accident after being hit by a van while in a crosswalk, the night of June 25, 2011. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Midway Drive, Point Loma Boulevard and Sports Arena Boulevard in the Midway District, when a van from Sam Kholi Ministries struck and killed the man in the wheelchair. Two people were injured in an Orange County car accident involving three vehicles, the morning of June 23, 2011. Macaia Miller, 19, was critically injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a City News Service report, the serious injury pedestrian accident occurred on East J Street in Lancaster, the night of June 20, 2011. Miller was crossing the road when a maroon or dark red four-door sedan struck her. Witnesses say that the driver made no attempt to stop. Edwin Vargas, 30, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to CBS Los Angeles, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred near Western Avenue and 84th Street in Los Angeles the night of June 18, 2011. Vargas was riding his motorcycle when a white Volkswagen Jetta struck him. Vargas suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Jetta left the scene of the crash. Emako Mendoza, 75, is in critical condition following a dog bite incident in San Diego when she was attacked by her neighbor's two pit bulls, the morning of June 18, 2011. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the serious injury dog attack occurred on Alleghany Street, near Potomac Street, in Paradise Hills. Mendoza was in her own backyard, when the two pit bulls escaped through a hole in the neighbor's fence and mauled her. She remains in critical condition after one of her legs had to be amputated. Both dogs were euthanized following the attack. The dog owner is under investigation.

Timothy Bucher, 56, was killed in San Francisco area car accident after his bicycle was struck by another vehicle. According to a news report in The Pleasanton Weekly, the fatal bicycle accident occurred at the intersection of Fairmont Drive and Foothill Boulevard the morning of June 15, 2011. Police say that a 32-year-old woman was driving a 1995 Honda Civic east on Fairmont Drive at 35 mph when she took her eyes off the road and allowed the car to veer to the right.

The Honda struck Bucher who was riding his bicycle eastbound. Bucher hit his head on the windshield of the car and landed on the roadway. He sustained critical injuries despite wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver of the Honda was not arrested pending an official investigation.

A 15-year-old boy sustained critical injuries in a San Diego car accident involving an elderly driver who lost control of his van. According to a 10News report, the major injury collision occurred at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Rose Street in Escondido, the afternoon of June 15, 2011.

Officials say the teenager was on his bike and waiting to cross the street when the northbound Chrysler Town and Country van swerved off the roadway and struck him. The vehicle also hit a traffic light pole and a building before coming to stop. The boy was airlifted to an area hospital with severe injuries. The motorist told officials that he lost control while trying to make a left turn from Rose onto Grand. An investigation is ongoing.

My heart goes out to this injured teenager and his family for what they are going through at this time. I sincerely hope the young man has not suffered life-threatening injuries and wish him the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Three people have been hospitalized with serious injuries in a car accident in Glenn County, which officials say involved a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Orland Press Register, the DUI accident occurred on Interstate 5 in Glenn County, the early morning of June 12, 2011. Jude Tenbear, 39, was reportedly travelling about 100 mph when she crashed her 2006 Pontiac into the back of a 1991 Toyota driven by 40-year-old Miguel Chacon. Chacon, and two other occupants in the Toyota, 28-year-old Wendy Vasquez and 64-year-old Juan Ramires, suffered severe injuries. The injuries suffered in this DUI crash included serious lacerations and a broken back. Tenbear was treated for minor injuries and then arrested on charges of felony suspicion of driving under the influence.

Jorge Nunez, 36, was critically injured in a Riverside car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the injury collision occurred early morning on June 12, 2011 at the intersection of Sixth and Harris streets in Corona. Officials say Nunez was walking across Sixth Street pushing a shopping cart when a vehicle traveling west on Sixth Street collided with him. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver fled the scene of the crash. Police are looking for a green over gray Ford Aerostar van that may have damage near its right headlight. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call investigators at 951-817-5764.

Veronica Brumley, 36, was killed in a car accident in Monterey County, when a Toyota sedan struck her after she stopped to help a stranded driver. According to a news report in The Monterey Herald, the fatal car accident occurred on Highway 156 in Castroville the morning of June 9, 2011.

Brumley had pulled her vehicle over to assist two people whose vehicle was disabled and stopped on the shoulder of the road. As she walked back to her SUV, the Toyota driven by 18-year-old Rachel Haskell hit her. Brumley was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Grief counselors were brought to the scene to assist Brumley's 12-year-old son who witnessed the crash.

Zachary Parke, 25, was killed in a San Francisco area car accident, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news article in The Santa Cruz Sentinel, signs of the fatal bicycle accident were discovered the morning of June 8, 2011, just off Empire Grade Road, near the UC Santa Cruz campus. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating the death as a hit-and-run. Parke was riding from a friend's home to the house he shared with his mother when he was hit. Another cyclist who noticed clothing and debris on the road found the victim's body.

Tragic Hit-and-Run

Officials say the driver of a burgundy Nissan or Infiniti is suspected of hitting Parke either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. Pieces of the car's headlights were found at the scene as were paint chips, bicycle parts and other debris, the article states. Based on the physical evidence, officials say both the car and the bicycle were southbound at the time. Parke's body was thrown off the bike and found about 20 feet away. Officials have described the suspect vehicle as a Nissan or Infiniti with a damaged headlight, side mirror, fender and other front-end damage. Anyone with information about this hit-and-run car accident is asked to contact CHP at 831-622-0511.

A man in his late 30s was injured in a Los Angeles motorcycle accident when his Harley Davidson went out of control and struck the center median. A 39-year-old man was injured in a San Diego car accident when a Nissan Versa pulled ahead of his motorcycle. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the motorcycle accident occurred on Linda Vista Road in Linda Vista, the afternoon of June 3, 2011. The motorcyclist was travelling south on Linda Vista, near Ulric Street, when the 50-year-old male driver of the Nissan pulled out of a restaurant parking lot and made an unsafe lane change. The motorcyclist braked hard in an attempt to avoid a collision and was ejected. The victim flipped over the motorcycle's handlebars and hit the back of the car, suffering a lower leg and wrist injury. He was transported to an area hospital. It is not clear if the driver of the car will be cited for making an unsafe lane change.

Teresa Lynn Cramer, 46, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident when her Chevrolet Suburban went out of control, rolled over and crashed. According to a City News Service report, the fatal rollover accident occurred on the eastbound 60 Freeway in Montebello the morning of June 1, 2011. Cramer was travelling in her SUV when it veered out of control, overturned, struck a light pole and ejected her. Officials are investigating the cause of this fatal crash.

Xai Lor, 22, of Lake Forest, was fatally injured in a Riverside car accident after his car struck a pole. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal collision occurred early morning on May 29, 2011 in the 1300 block of Blaine Street, close to the Interstate 215. Riverside Coroner's officials say Lor crashed his car into a pole in the parking lot of a service station. Lor was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a San Diego 6 news report, the injury crash occurred the morning of May 31, 2011 near the intersection of Park Avenue and Market Street in the East Village area. The woman was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. An investigation is ongoing.
