California Personal Injury Claim: What's It Worth to You?
If you are wondering how much your car accident personal injury claim is worth, it is very important that you consult with a car accident lawyer in California who will help you determine that amount. The ability to pay of the person who caused the car accident is a big factor in calculating how large your settlement can be. The ability to pay is determined by the person's car insurance policy and assets.
If the person who caused the car accident does not have an insurance policy or any assets, your personal injury claim could be worth nothing. If the person who caused the car accident only has a $15,000 policy, but you your injury is worth more than that, your insurance claim is still worth only $15,000. If the person who caused the car accident has an insurance policy worth one million dollars, but your injury is only worth $10,000, then your California personal injury case is worth only $10,000. Therefore, the amount of money you can get from your car accident injury claim is a combination of the severity of your injury and the ability to pay of the person who caused the car crash.
If you have been in a serious car accident, please consult a California personal injury lawyer in order to help you weigh all your options and determine the maximum amount that you can claim in your personal injury settlement. This is especially important if you have a catastrophic injury claim. A personal injury lawyer can help you get a fair and just settlement.

How long does it take to receive your lost wages payments from your auto insurance company.

How long does it take to receive your lost wages payments from your auto insurance company? Under most situations you are not going to recover "lost wages" from your auto insurance company. You will normally recover your lost wages due to an accident from the person (or their insurance company) who is responsible for your injury. That can take as little as a few months and as long as five years.
If you are seeking recovery for "lost wages" from your own insurance company under a uninsured or underinsured motorist provision it can take six months to a couple years after the underlying case is resolved, if there is one. If there isn't an underlying case, then six months to a couple years from the date of making the claim.
