Motorcycle Accident Turns Retired Couple’s World Upside Down

Ron and Denise Gowell were going to retire and travel the world. Like everyone, they had plans for the golden years of their lives. But, all that changed on Oct. 4, 2006 when Ron, who was riding his motorcycle, got hit by a female driver, who suddenly made an illegal U-turn. Ron had no time to think or react. His leg rammed into the woman’s vehicle and his tibia was completely crushed.
The motorcycle accident not only changed the couple’s world and their lives, but it brought in a sense of uncertainty to their collective future. Would Ron ever walk again?
